SAFETY UPDATE: January 5, 2022
Spring 2022 SEMESTER SAFETY UPDATE: All classes for the full Spring term are virtual
January 18 - Jan. 24 to lessen the risk of Coronavirus spread at Southwest locations.
Those classes that are scheduled to meet on campus will return to on-campus sessions
Jan. 25. In addition, Southwest employees will work remotely Jan. 6 – 24 with the
exception of employees who work in the following essential on-campus service centers:
Advising, Athletics, bookstores, cafeterias, cashier, child care centers, Financial
Aid, Medical District High School, Payroll, Physical Plant, Police and Public Safety,
printing services and Records/Registrar. Employees return to on-campus work Jan. 25.

SAFETY UPDATE: November 9, 2021
Effective Nov. 10: 51±¬ÁÏ, in accordance with Shelby
County Health Department , Southwest highly recommends masks be worn indoors at all Southwest locations.
PHASE IV GUIDELINES:
All locations reopen.
The College returns to full on-campus operations with a reimagined, year-round academic schedule featuring online and on-campus classes and classes that blend face-to-face instruction with online sessions. Health screenings are no longer required for campus access.
Face coverings are required. Social distancing guidelines as set for by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are encouraged and practiced.
Timeline and activities described below are contingent upon health and safety guidelines and current pandemic conditions and are subject to change.
